Born in 1973 in Turin, Italy, Andrea studied and worked for a long time as an Economist - he completed a PhD, two masters’ degrees and worked in various international organizations (University of Turin, Italian Ministry of Foreign Affairs and the World Bank).
The experience matured in Development Economics allowed him to cultivate a different sensitivity and in 2006 he decided to become a full-time photographer. He perfected his technique at the Mary Ellen Mark workshop on photojournalism in New York and completed the yearly professional program at the Washington School of Photography.
He used to live in Lebanon, US, Mozambique, Belgium and France. He has traveled to South and Central American Countries, East Asia, Eastern and Central Europe and "circunnavigated by land" the whole African Continent.
He developed a photo-project with outsider artists in NYC, nomads in Moncalieri, Palestinian in refugees camps of Lebanon. He worked on the Refugees in Malta, on the Greek Crisis and he followed an itinerant Cinema all around the world. So far his photography has been exhibited in USA, Italy and Croatia. He usually works as a freelance and publishes on Italian and international magazines.
